Although somewhat dated, it was first published in 1999, the Panos media briefing on GM crops entitled, “Greed or Need?” provides a comprehensive introduction to the major arguments surrounding the GMO debate.

The report includes a short introduction on the history of GM crops, the industry case for GM crops, the case against GM crops, a discussion of the role of GM crops in food security,  the role of corporations in the world’s food supply, and a presentation of the legal issues surrounding the debate.
